Hi all you Ashby kids out there this is for you!! I have been going to write some things for a while now but seems the days get finished to fast & I am getting slower. First I want to thank you all for being on FB with me, It has been over 20 years since grandma died & we have lost contact with most of you & now I am connected with so many of you. The Ashbys have 30 grandchildren & 2 Angels. I am friends with 23 of you, besides the ones you brought into the family, some of whom I dont know other than on FB, it has been fun to get to know you. I am sure the count would be at least 60+ I think that is pretty awesome! I have tried to count I get so far & my mind wonders. Of the 7 children only 2 are left. The in-laws are 6 of us. We miss all those who have gone on. I have enjoyed getting to know Alice more & love her. As I love all the others, go grateful that we had such a great relationship as a family. Had lots of good times when going to Ely!! Grandpa Ashby was a great, kind, gentle man & grandma was a fun loving lady. I remember one trip Bob & I took out for a golf tournament, Grandpa Ashby with tears in his eyes gave me a hug & said I didnt think I would ever see you again. That same trip grandma needed to go to the store, half block away, grandpa said he would drive us over, because he was sure that he wouldnt be able to get his license renew soon, so he just sat in the car & waited. I felt so sad for him, an awesome man, loved him!! In talking to Alice the other day she told me that when she flew to Ely from Japan to have her baby,( Ross was still in the service, she had never met any of the family) grandpa gave her a big hug & said welcome home sis!! that is all it took to love him!! I am going to write some of his history, later. I am having some allergy with my eyes & nose, they will only do so much. Bob always told me I was born upside down, my feet smell & my nose runs luv A Joyce
