Hi . . and help! I have the great honor of running a camp for about 20 Ecuadorian teenage girls on August 22 and 23. We will be teaching them some camping skills as well as the fun of camping. I’m used to doing this back in the U.S. with tons of resources but find myself here without much to run a camp. There are things we would like to borrow – specifically tents, sleeping bags, camp lights, a shovel and a camp stove. We also need the following if anybody could donate some of these things: 1. Odd ends of ribbons and lace. Small pieces are fine. 2. Odd ends of fabric, particularly fleece or felt that doesn’t have to be hemmed. Small pieces are fine. 3. Odd buttons or other sewing items to decorate small pillows. 4. Odd ends of fabric of most any type and color or pattern large enough to make cravat bandages for use in the first aid class. A 3’ by 3’square will make two bandages, so I need about 4 or 5 yards to make enough for the girls to share and practice on each other. The pieces do not have to match. Items 1 through 3 are for craft items to be used in teaching them some sewing skills. If you would be willing to loan or donate any of these items, we would really appreciate it.
