Hi dear friends. I have so much on my mind and heart tonight. First, I want to say thank you to everyone who was a part of the Soaring For Sammy fundraiser today. Thank you to Missy , Cara , Virginia Beach Rock Gym, Isha , Jodi , Astro, and so many more! Thank you to all of you who came out to support Sammy. We were blown away by how packed it was!! You all raised $1,500 for Sammy!! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts...words just cant even come close to explaining the gratitude we feel. I also wanted to take a moment to be more transparent tonight. This journey in so many ways has been so rough for me (I dont think any of you would expect it not to be). There have been days where I sat on my floor with my head in my hands and just sobbed. There have been moments where I heard myself say, Just get out of bed (I think the exhaustion is kicking in). I have caught myself just staring at Sammy...watching his ever changing appearance and saying This is really happening. It all feels surreal. In these moments I am reminded of several truths. Truths I cling to. In Matthew 6 it says, Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them...Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. The Lord will provide. I do not need to replay yesterday, I do not need to worry about tomorrow, I just need to think about today. What peace that brings me...and when I do that, I am reminded of His blessings. His blessings are all around. On days where I am completely exhausted, dinner gets dropped off. On days where I am saying This isnt really happening, there are encouraging letters left on our car or front porch or in the mail. On days where I think I cant move anymore, the lawn is getting mowed. On days where I think I cant carry the pain of my children without crumbling, I get a call or have a meeting where my spirits are lifted by those who love my children. Blessings in the form of sweet friends, amazing teachers, and complete strangers. Each of you remind me of Gods blessings. If you are reading this, you remind me of Gods blessings. I pray you hear that. Your prayers, your thoughts and concerns, your giving are all a part of something so much bigger, and The Lord uses you all to remind me of how Great and Faithful He is.
