Hi der FB friends! Good morning to EVERYONE of you and my best wishes to you in your individual pursuits! One of the things that I have been deeply struck by in my long service as an English language lover and college teacher is the large number of words that tongue happens to be having about killers and killing--more than 1000 of them at a casual count--and my inference has been that Man has evolved from very quarrelsome monkey in the north of Egypt--where a furious battle is taking place as we speak--into a very quarrel loving biped animal! Look at this representative sample--with meanings in brackets-- to get warmed up with: Brahminicide( Brahmins), fratricide(brother), Christicide(Christ),parricide(relative),czaricide(czar),hosticide(guest),genocide(race or ethnic group) ,patricide(father), nepoticide(relative), amicide(friend), hospiticide(man),mariticide(husband or wife),viricide(man),regicide(king) ,matricide(mother),infanticide(child), uxoricide(wife), parenticide(parent),populicide(population) ,siblicide(sibling),and sororicide(sister) My point is that Man is born with the instinct to quarrel for real or imagined reasons , at the drop of the smallest feather or hat!Given this unenviable state of affairs, its safe to conclude that all through our individual lives it would pay us high dividends if we take conscious care not to displease anyone deliberately. Online also its all the more vital that we dont rub anyone--ANYONE-against his or her grain,not for ourselves alone but also for letting the other person live without undue stress--and stress can kill too! My lifelong observation has convinced me that life in India--developing for ever seemingly but never getting developed at all despite the bravado---- is highly stressful for A-Z man-made reasons---uncertainty in getting basic services like power and water,the oral diarrhoea of our politicians,the fragility of human relationships, the Don Juan syndrome applying to girls sense of safety,the life and death insecurity on roads,the Niagara of politically spiced and party-flavoured reality served us on a platter by the daily print and audiovisual media, and so many more! This means that every time you see a sincere smile, you must thank your God that at least one person is happy in an ocean of unhappiness!Our use of social media must be such that we strive to keep the other person as stress free as possible simply because misinterpretation of something we say or do can happen anytime without any reason at all. One of my best friends recently fell out with me for practically no reason.She felt that I had attempted to insult her on purpose!Not at all!Life is a pilgrimage taken with others shoulders touching us at odd times as we go along. Such touches neednt make us angry at all;its all part of life! Smile and keep yourself happy as much as you can in this rascally ingrate world around us,where parents dont know what to do with marketing and selling their grown daughters to some male animals and wives are unsure of how to make themselves unforgettable to their partners! I shirk speaking of myself here but between you and me, I have never been lucky in my personal life so far----as contrasted with my success in my professional life every time-- probably like Dr Faustus of Marlowes play basically since Cupid either played hide and seek with me for various reasons or hid himself among the crowd of stars overhead.Not that I have been a whimpering caterwauling boy at that since I took all this as a fatalist in my stride. But this diplomacy I try to keep even when provoked by the raw deals that India gives me~! So bear mind to be diplomatic, soft spoken at all times giving others your ideas only as suggestions!That way you chance leading a more peaceful less discontented life!
