Hi everybody! I hope you all enjoyed our last meeting, where we discussed media bias in society and the ramifications of dress code policies. Also, last Saturday Naperville North hosted the first Chapter Conference of the year, and from engaging in different psychological debates to eating deep dish pizza, everyone was clearly having a good time! Special shout out to Matt Pattermann and Archana Upadhyay for winning best speaker gavels, and for everyone who had the courage to give a main speech for the first time! (Amrit, Ripal, Arman, Julia) Just some reminders for this upcoming week: 1. Technically, the Fall State Forms were due last meeting, October 3. However, if you still have an interest in going but werent able to get the forms in on time, definitely be sure to contact me ASAP so we can arrange something. Many people have talked to me already about this, but if anything I need everything from those who plan on going by TOMORROW to accommodate you! 2. On that same train of thought, for those of you going to Fall State, debate and volunteer sign-ups are now open! The event page has already been released (if you didnt notice Emilees post before), and from now until October 19 you can sign up to be a speaker/moderator, or to even help out with publicity/navigation/activism/fundraising/expansion! 3. Activism/Fundraising Director Applications are due THIS FRIDAY, OCTOBER 10, by MIDNIGHT to the D204 JSA email (district204.jsa@gmail). The position entails acting as a liaison between the Midwest Directors of Activism/Fundraising and the D204 chapter You would also help plan any activism/fundraising projects for D204. If you have any questions about information pertaining to one or both positions, dont hesitate to contact Vedika, Archana, or any other Exec Board member! Heres the Link: https://drive.google/a/midwest.jsa.org/file/d/0BwFW0wyLSCvlNXZyYVpycTdicTQ/edit 4. For those of you who have paid taxes, MAKE SURE TO CREATE A MYJSA ACCOUNT SO YOU CAN BE AN OFFICIAL MEMBER! As of next meeting, there WILL be a wall of shame for those of you who havent done it yet, please register soon so I can check you off! With all of that said, I hope to see you again next meeting, where we will be discussing if Roger Goodel should step down as NFL Commissioner and whether or not the United Nations should pursue anti-terrorist policies. Have a great week, everyone, and see you all Friday! ^_^ Love, ~District 204 JSA [Links for those going to Fall State] Fall State Volunteer Sign-Ups: https://docs.google/a/midwest.jsa.org/forms/d/13CSxUPi9UIKRmseBWK1Yjx3EN_acRfhwOdFdgcQbl9U/viewform Fall State Debate Sign-Ups: jsa.debateware/event/14
