Hi everyone- I hope its okay to post this here. Im looking for help in creating an evacuation plan for my three horses- we live in a wooded valley off the grid halfway between vernon and kelowna on Westside Rd.(about fifteen minutes down a dirt road off Westside). Of course I am hoping I wont have to use it, but with a family and other animals to move if we experience a fire in our area Im hoping to have a plan/resources in place so I wouldnt have to scramble to get my boys out safely. Usually my neighbor hauls for me, but with twelve of her own herd she would have her hands full. So, Im looking for 2-3 numbers of people who would be willing to help haul three horses in an emergency situation, and also 2-3 numbers of people who would have an extra field or paddock available to keep them in. My boys are all pastured during the summer so that would be preferable, but of course I would take whatever help I could get and get hay at the ready if needed. If anyone from kelowna or vernon or the surrounding areas would be able and willing to help me with this I would be so very grateful. Thanks so much everyone, and lets hope the rain keeps coming :)
