Hi everyone, A few people have commented on my guitar tone on this tour (by the way, so far, this is one of my most successful of the recent west coast trips). I did make a deliberate change to my sound recently. I have made it super clean and added lots of top end. It seems to be connecting to the audience. Its not unlike my old sound I have used at times. Im using different amps, each night, as provided by the venues, so the sound changes a little but, nevertheless, Ive been able to get the same ballpark tone each night. One of the frustrations on this tour is having young sound technicians who dont appreciate that cutting blues tone! I havent been keeping up so much with current events. I watch a little TV and I have news feeds on Twitter so I know whats happening in the world, but I didnt see the State of the Union address, for instance. I do follow politics, sports and music (well, my kind of music). I like my music, politics, sports and life in general to be honest and real. When it gets too slick and processed, it turns me off. Back to the tour: had a day off last night ... ate comfort food and built up some surplus energy just lounging in the hotel room .... Ill practice a little today .... allergies bothering me. The medieval time period really interests me these days and it appears were finding out that a lot of our previous assumptions about that part of history may have to be re-examined. My gut feeling tells me (apart from technology advancement) that nothing much has changed ....
