Hi everyone, Apologies for not being able to post many updates, but we have been very busy meeting with community leaders and planning for the playground, garden, and websites. Things are on track and we are very excited! Now for some important notices. Family and friends of Marlene Johnson (a fellow board member at the Mulgrave Park Caring and Learning Centre) are holding an auction on November 2nd to raise money. Marlene has lung cancer and has to undergo radiation, and when she is strong enough, chemo, however she has no health coverage. The money raised will go to help her with fees and transportation costs. Marlene has done a lot of great things for her community and anything that can be donated for the auction to help, whether its a service or item would be greatly appreciated. (ITEMS NEED TO BE IN BY OCTOBER 28th!) Progress In The Park is also assisting the Caring and Learning Centre and Mulgrave Park Tenants Association with collecting toys, raising money and organizing this years toy drive and Holiday Party for the kids. We are looking for donations and volunteers for this as well.
