Hi everyone, As the administrator of this wonderful group, I see some things in the group getting a bit negative and some posts being made that may not be proper for what this group was created for... With the amazing conversations and pictures this group creates, there are some new issues with the guidelines of this particular group, creating a set of “house rules” will encourage productive participation by our members so we can all be happy. Most conversations, good or bad, are constructive. But unfortunately, people won’t always play nice. Having a plan and fair guidelines that we all can follow will save us all a big headache in the long run. There should be NO: •Profane, defamatory, offensive or violent language • Posting deliberately disruptive statements meant to hijack comment threads or throw discussions off-track •Attacks on specific members or any comments meant to harass, threaten or abuse an individual •Hateful or discriminatory comments •Spam •Commercial solicitations or repetitive promotion of a business •Content determined to be inappropriate, in poor taste, or otherwise contrary to the purposes of the forum •Personal promotion Politics should be avoided as well. Not everyone is going to play nice, so we are prepared for situations where members get out of hand. We understand that sometimes negative comments may not be meant to cause harm, but simply to raise blood pressure, and we will give fair warning, but if anyone continues with harassing, or negative posts or comments after being asked to stop they will be removed from the group. By nature we do not like to censor and we take an approach of how long a post should remain rather than if it should remain. To be as fair as we can with everyone. We want members to feel a sense of camaraderie and find genuine value in what we all share on this page. As page administrator, and with discussion with the page creator we want to further encourage these terms to foster a healthier community, and group.. As most everyone knows Rick Bates created this group in 2011 for the purpose of sharing our fond memories, and photos of our great town of Altoona, Pa We understand there are some current events we also like to discuss as well, lets just do it in taste without bashing or name calling or talking poorly of landlords, and or local businesss. We are working very hard to keep this a wonderful, close group, a happy and welcoming place to visit, and your cooperation is greatly appreciated.. Thanks for sharing all your memories, and pictures with us, and please continue to enjoy this very awesome group....
