Hi everyone! As you can see, we’ve finally gotten around to making a Facebook group, and here are a few announcements/some information (this is a really long post but please try and read it all!): 1. We meet every other Wednesday, which means that our next meeting will be on Wednesday, October 8th. If the dates of meetings are going to change, you can expect to see a post from Maddie, Julia or me in this group. 2. We’ve narrowed down some possibilities for charities to work with. We tried to find charities with diverse interests/goals, and would appreciate other suggestions. We’ve included info and their websites. At our next meeting, we will officially decide our first course of action! If something sounds interesting to you, please take a look at their website. We have a few ideas for fundraising, but please come to the next meeting/comment/message us about any interesting ideas for fundraising. At the last meeting, we discussed bake sales, selling jewelry (provided by a charity), a car wash, etc. One idea that we had was showing a movie in the black box, and charging for snacks and accepting donations, and the proceeds would go to a related charity. Some ideas we have had for movies are Girl Rising and Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide (which is also an amazing book!) but this is definitely open for discussion. 4. We are making t-shirts soon so stay tuned! - Julia, Maddie and Nina
