Hi everyone, How you diddling? I take it all you cool - TopicsExpress

Hi everyone, How you diddling? I take it all you cool dudes are going to see Jim Bob’s big spectacular gig on 30th November? The big extravaganza that will see Jim backed by a big eff off orchestra is only a month away. If you haven’t got a ticket why not? Don’t give me that excuse about lack of money or its too far away. I wanted to see Mike and The Mechanics the other week. I had no cash so I robbed the local pound shop. I was only able to get £27 cash as my pockets weren’t that big and pound coins are heavy - but it was enough to see a beautiful rendition of ‘The Living Years’.* This show is going to be AMAZING. I won’t lie readers - as it stands we have sold 264 tickets out of 350. This is good but do you know what? It’s not good enough. I want Bush Hall bursting at the mutha fuc*ing seams. I want it so full passers by will think that rather than 350 people inside there are instead 350 bushes inside Bush Hall. And I am not talking about 70s style lady bits, I am talking about those things that are like small trees. Occasionally we get emails sent to Team Jim Bob HQ. Most of them are dull beyond belief. Normally it’s a well meaning request for Jim to play at a wedding, a 40th birthday party or some awful charity gig where you know six people will show up. That is exciting as it gets. But occasionally we get emails like the one following. Have a read of this one all the way from Germany. (Isn’t the modern world great? You can be in Germany and send an email and it arrives in South London mere seconds later. This blows my mind!) “Hi Jim, I received your new album and think its your best since School. Its in my Top 3 Jim Bob albums together with Angelstrike! I also enjoyed Driving Jarvis Ham and the Day Job EP. I would love to see your upcoming show in London, but am afraid I cant make it from Germany. So my question (plea) is: could you please film the show and release it on DVD (its been a while since your last live DVD)? If so, it would be even greater if you could perhaps include Hanging Around, ASBOmania! and Back To School (which would all be great live with the orchestra). And if you would NOT play any Carter songs to make room for as many brilliant solo songs as possible. (And I am writing this as a huge Carter fan since 1991). Best wishes from Hamburg, Germany Robin” This email is FANTASTIC! Firstly he praises the new album and then he gives some good setlist suggestions. Sadly we won’t be filming it. What’s the point it will all be on youtube the next day? But the point I want to make is that Robin has half an excuse for not attending – he lives miles away. Those of you in the UK get your debit cards out. It’s the best night out you will ever have. No excuse for you crazy funsters. I know Robin could get a cheap flight from Germany, and to be fair their economy is doing better than most so he could maybe afford it…. Actually as I write this I am changing my mind – this Robin dude should be coming. Robin – stop with the excuses. They’ll be no DVD so get your arse on an easyjet plane and get on over. Some people eh? I think that’s it. Let’s sell this gig out. It’s going to mental. More mental than Barry Mental who lives in Mental Lane (and who also has a dog called Mental). Love you all, Marc xxx p.s. That Chris T-T dude is supporting. I like him. He makes me happy in lots of special ways. *This is a lie. I have no desire to see Mike - or indeed his mechanics
