Hi everyone. Hubby is having 2nd BMT for VSAA at the moment. Hes in St Georges hospital Tooting London. He had a BMT Oct 2013 but lost the graft two months later.. He had a brain haemorrhage and ended up on life support for 2 months. After he was discharged hes been getting monthly infections. He was as stable as he could be before 2nd BMT started 16 days ago. Weve been waiting for neutrophils to go up. Yesterday we were told that neutrophils were 0.8. We became very happy but then today we were told they are 0. Im going crazy tonight. Does that mean he hasnt engrafted and the 0.8 figure might have been an error or does it mean graft failure/rejection. Going crazy with worry. I know neutrophils can take 30 days to appear but the wait is agonising. Anyone here had 2nd BMT from unrelated donor? If so, how long did it take to engraft? Thanks in anticipation.
