Hi everyone. I am here with an update on our grandson, Joey. Some of you may remember, he was born almost 4 years ago with tetralogy of fallot. This is a very serious heart condition involving a large hole between the ventricles, damage to the pulmonary artery and valve, and other secondary damage. He has 4 ultrasounds in Allentown while awaiting to be 10 pounds, a safer weight for bypass surgery. Each ultrasound showed the damage, but his oxygen levels remained excellent. He was dedicated at BWC on a day when our choir sang Thou O Lord. Many of you fasted and prayed for him. Finally, the surgery was scheduled and I went along to CHOP a week prior for pre-op testing. We spoke to the chief cardio-thoracic surgeon, who studied those ultrasounds and told us that there was no chance of this condition healing on its own, it must be surgically repaired. We were in shock 5 hours later when another cardiologist announced to us that they found nothing wrong during the pre-op tests, and that they canceled the surgery. Joey has had follow-ups at CHOP, the latest being last month. Several tests were done and again, everything was excellent. In a report sent to my daughter the doctors at CHOP state that the hole was completely closed, and that there was no pulmonary stenosis. There was something new however. They saw small muscle bundles in the right ventricle. While he has no symptoms at all now, the doctors feel this could worsen and eventually cause problems, so they are recommending elective open heart surgery. We were devastated. My daughter and son-in-law are taking him to Hershey for a second opinion this coming Friday. Oh, and the choir is singing Thou O Lord tomorrow, with the National Christian Choir. Please join with us in praying for healing for Joey, that God would touch him and as Master Physician, and heal him once again. Thank you.
