Hi everyone, I attended the AGM of Co Wicklow Tourism last night, where the guest speaker was the new CEO of Failte Ireland. He spoke about the success of the Wild Atlantic Way and said that similar plans are afoot for the east, namely a corridor from Waterford, through Kilkenny, Wicklow, Kildare to Meath (Dublin separate). There is no funding for individual projects, but people should be looking to tap into this new marketing promotion. We then had Pat Mellon from Wicklow Partnership who hinted that 250m will be coming to Ireland in 2015 to invest in jobs initiatives, and again, this is something we need to plan for. How can Wicklow develop our tourist industry to make sure we are not bypassed yet again? NB, NOBODY is going to do it for us - there are savvy people out there ready to capitalise on their local assets. We need to start maximising on our own assets, or well be left behind!
