Hi everyone! I can honestly say that this week was the most - TopicsExpress

Hi everyone! I can honestly say that this week was the most eventful week on the mission. We have bumped into some crazy people and have had some crazy experiences. On Wednesday, we went to a home and they let us in. We were excited because a big family lived there! It was great-we sat in the living room and they got us some water and the dad started talking to us. I dont know what happened, but he started arguing and just kept telling us we were wrong and that God and Jesus Christ are the same person (we believe Christ is the son of God, and that they are two separate beings). He probably talked, well, ranted, forty minutes straight about everything he disagrees with. It was nuts. Sister Nava wasnt able to say much, but when she could, she said all she could. It was awesome. He told us as we left that his family sent him out to talk with us because they knew he could get rid of us. She told him, well, when youre ready to join the true church, give us a call. Those Anti-Mormons, though... A little whack. We have also found the weirdest people in Roy, I swear. We have done a lot of tracting (where we knock on doors to find people to teach) and we meet some pretty crazy people. At one time, we approached a man outside of some apartment complexes smoking. We asked if he was a member of the church and he just looked at his cigarette and said, dont tell mommy! What. We awkwardly laughed and he told us he was a member and that he would only go to church when he lived in Boise because it was right across the street. Sister Nava and I thought of the meme when we left, I dont always go to church... But when I do, its because its right across the street. Hahaha. We think were pretty funny. We also knocked on an apartment where there were kids outside and a man answered and greeted us with, what do you want. We told him we were the sister missionaries and he asked us to please go away. We told him we were the Spanish sisters and asked if there were any Hispanics in the area. He literally shooed us away. He used his hands and everything to shoo us off. How rude. We have found some pretty crazy people, but we have also found a couple more people to teach... So, THATS what makes it all worth it! Remember how I would play ping pong, like every day in the CCM? Yeah. Totally got to play again on Saturday. The Elders in the area, Kalamau and Aranda invited us to go with them and we did... It was a blast and I have missed playing oh so much. We went to our neighbors house to play, and they bought us breakfast and made us smoothies. SO NICE. We left to do personal studies, and I ran home... Our house was like, ten feet away... And I TRIPPED. I tried (and failed) to jump over something, and I just fell... But I got up pretty quickly, worried the elders would see me... How embarrassing, but hilarious. Stake Conference was this weekend! Elder Clayton (of the 70), his wife, President Hiers, and his wife all came and spoke! When President Hiers spoke, he gave Sister Nava and I a shoutout. Haha! He asked us to stand in front of everyone and said, These are the Spanish Sisters. Theyre wonderful! Get to know them! AW SHUCKS. It was so wonderful. Today was an eventful day itself. We were on our way to Ogden to go bowling... When BOOM. Someone rear ended us. We were screaming because we didnt know what just happened. Well, we didnt have much control and we also hit the car in front of us. It was a disaster, but luckily, no one was hurt. The police came and we figured everything out. It just kinda stunk... Took too much time away from preparation day! When we were hit, I broke my hair clip. That was a bummer, as well. We had a lesson with Emilio this week.. We have been praying and praying for him to be baptized this Saturday. We know he will be baptized, we just know that. However, were thinking hes not ready for this Saturday. Hes progressing, thats for sure, but we will be working with him for a little bit longer. In other spiritual news, I FINISHED THE BOOK OF MORMON THIS MORNING. Wooooo. Its a great book, so yall should read it ;) Theres actually an awesome 21 day challenge our mission is doing to help others read the Book of Mormon. I invite you all to try it! I promise itll bless your life as you read it. :) I love this mission. I love being a missionary. Its hard, but.. Thats a mission. I love you all and I couldnt do this without all your love and support. Have an awesome week! Hermana Orchard ** She is fine after her accident, was not feeling 100% that day but is good now. ~Angie
