Hi everyone. I follow, though dont actively participate much here, and I trust your opinions, so I have a question for you. I have an 11 month old pit pup (Jazzy) Ive been fostering for the last 4 months. Shes outgoing, sweet, dog and human social, great with kids, cat friendly but not savvy lol, and just an all-around great dog. Now heres the thing: Sunday my dad came over to visit, and Jazzy was scared to death of him. None of my pits have ever liked him, but she was scared to death. Submissive smiling, crouching, avoiding. He wanted to play with her, and she wanted no part of it. Shes never reacted like this to someone. Normally shes all exuberance and puppy joy. In the last three days two of my boyfriends uncles have come over, both older men, and shes scared of them now as well. Shes avoiding, nervous barking, actually bolted through the door. Ive never seen such a rapid, radical change. Can you offer some insight and suggestions as to how to help her work through this? Obviously no more being around my dad.
