Hi everyone. I just got home and I know that I am supposed to call some of you but I am pooped!!! I worked 12 hours last night and 4 hours of school this morning and then straight to the doctor after a 30 min nap. so I need to get some sleep. I will give you what I know so far which is what I already had an idea of. The good news that i was unsure and and waiting for is the result of the PET scan. the cancer has not spread to any other parts of the body and the doctor is fairly certain that it hasnt spread to the brain. He classified it as stage IIIb and possibly c but that will be determined after surgery. the next step is to the surgeon tomorrow at 11 and he will set me up for surgery to remove all of the affected lymph nodes and they will check them to determine whether it is C or B. After that I will be hospitalized for at least 6 months for chemo and radiation with the most likely treatment being interferon treatment. I feel I am in good hands and they will decide the treatment within about a month. As of right now I am off work until at least Jan 9th.
