Hi everyone! I would like to ask your opinion about building Off-Leash reliability with our 5 ½ months old cavapoo puppy. We started a while ago training her off leash in our back yard. She’s been really good. So we decided to make her work in a fenced area for dogs in the park. Each time I called, she responded with enthusiasm and returned so I rewarded it (Btw we work with the clicker). In fact, I rewarded her whenever she came to me without calling. (Although there were 2 dogs walking off leash behind the fence, she went to sniff them and as soon as she heard me calling her, she came back) I know it’s too early as it’s just been 2 days since we’re working on it but I still would like to ask you when you think is the best time to head out to the stimulating free park environment and expect her to behave as she would in the fenced area.
