Hi everyone; Im here because I was invited; thanks for that. I have shown some of my local postcard collection elsewhere and I was made aware of this cozy little nook. I normally explain that I only post scans of cards that I own myself. Not that I object to others doing things differently its just the way I am. Ive concentrated on Morecambe, my home town but I also have a smaller collection of old Lancaster cards. Many you will have seen before but having the actual cards means I can add some insight by referring to what is on the back of the card which is sometimes more interesting. Saying that there is always an exception. Sometimes I see a postcard that is important but at a price beyond my reach. In those circumstances I sometimes make a copy for my own interest. Very occasionally I would like to share such a card. I will start with such an exception; this is the saddest card I have ever seen although when it was taken just across the bay in Cartmel it wasnt seen as a sad scene at all at the time. I dont think I need to explain that further. It was on EBay priced at well over £20. It seems the seller realised how telling an image it was too. I think it sold for almost £40.
