Hi everyone! Im so happy to have found you. Im a 27 year old mother of two boys - 3 yrs and 15 months - and I suffered from SPD starting at only 10 weeks with my second. Im an operating room nurse and my job is to stand all day long. Needless to say my life was hell. I went on work accommodation at 17 weeks, and finally off work at 25 weeks. It was impossible to convince my OB that I was in so much pain. Only my nurse practitioner believed me and supported me. I was also battling severe depression and the lack of support was a crushing blow. It got so bad that anything other than sitting or laying down was pure agony. I had a rather uneventful delivery and as soon as my epidural wore off I was literally jumping and running around my hospital room!! The symptoms were gone!! Ive been mostly pain-free since then. Only strenuous activity aggravates it. And I always have to sleep with a pillow between my legs. I had a Mirena IUD put in at 6 weeks postpartum and so never had my period. I got it removed a few weeks ago in an attempt to remove the artificial hormones from my body and live more naturally. I just got my period today and all of a sudden the SPD pain is so severe I feel like Im pregnant all over again!! Do any of you notice your symptoms return/worsen during your period? I think I need to start physio if this is going to happen every month for the rest of my life.
