Hi everyone. Milos mom here. Milo is calm and resting. He is still got the gags, but as long as I keep him calm, he is OK. He keeps using a gag reflex to bring something up, there is no cough, per se and the ER girl heard what I was describing. She seems to think it may be something irritating his esophagus or something stuck in his esophagus. I thought maybe something in his throat, I dont know what but I swished his mouth. He wont allow me to go into his throat and at this point I dont think Im qualified enough to do so?? Hes not eating. He vomited everything up in his tummy earlier and all that is left is very small amounts of what I can only describe as yellow foam. I called my go-to ER Vet and they would gladly take him, BUT they were headed into an emergency surgery and told me it could be upwards of 4-5 hours waiting and I may be best served going to another local ER. THEY called around for me, since the ones I knew of refused Milo last year because of his breed ( The Nightshade incident) One was a very long way away and the other was so rude to me that I mentioned in another post that I wouldnt take a snake there. NO ER would accept donations unless it was ONE payment by phone with proper ID ( via phone? Made no sense..) They refused multiple donations or phone payments and they told me just by my description, it would be approx $600-700 for ER charge, Xrays would be a must, and bloodwork. Truthfully, I fell apart and I thank Cindy, Dannette, and Michelle for bringing me back from the edge, because I truly lost it for a few moments. Its now 3:15 a.m. and I am watching over my Milo and had to make the decision that there is no way I can afford that kind of money and if it got worse I would go back to my 1st ER vet choice no matter what and wait for their surgery to end. Milo WILL be headed into his own vet when they open in a few hours. THANK YOU everyone who has posted, shared our issues, and came to me on PMs and messaged me on my own page or phoned me tonight. I hope this is something as simple as kennel cough and I am praying its not a blockage, stomach, or intestinal problem. I will post when I have more information.
