Hi everyone! My 6 month old twin girls had been sleeping through - TopicsExpress

Hi everyone! My 6 month old twin girls had been sleeping through the night since they could (we initially had to wake them every 3 hours to eat). For the past week or so each of them have been waking up what feels like every hour (each at different times). Not wanting to wake up the other (they share a room but each have their own crib), we go in to comfort them, give them back their pacifiers and sush them but they will not settle until we pick them up! I know this may reinforce their crying but we try to avoid waking up the other. Also, they really cry as if they are in distress. It is heartbreaking. As soon as they are in either of our arms they fall back asleep and as soon as we try to put them back in their crib they cry again. We go through this cycle about 5 times before we finally cosleep with them-and they still wake up intermittently!! While cosleeping I nurse them when they wake up (and wont stop crying) because it seems its the only way to help them settle back to bed. I am so torn as to what to do. On one hand I want to comfort them and not let them cry (like attachment parenting style from what I understand) but on the other I know this may not be conducive for when I return to work (I work second shift so wont be home to put them to sleep or be there to comfort them when they wake up before 12 a.m.) or when the girls spend the night with their grandparents. They used to sleep in the same crib and we had the same experience. Does anybody have any advice/suggestions?? Were exhausted!!!! T.I.A.
