Hi everyone! My name is Josh, I just turned 18 on May 24th, and Im coming to U of O for a BA with a Specialization in History. I got into Thompson, Third Floor, and 11th Room. Im from the lovely town of Brampton. I am currently a student at Mayfield Secondary School in the Regional Arts Program for Drama. I consider myself to be a little shy and awkward, but once you get to know me I can be the loudest guy in the room. I tell really bad jokes, so I apologize in advance. Unfortunately, I can only speak English, so I’m hoping to pick up my French again once I’m in Ottawa. I will warn you in advance that my “attempt” at a French accent is plain terrible. I’m a huge fan of sports. I love basketball and football. I’ve dedicated 10 years of my life playing basketball, and I’m hoping to continue playing intramurals at U of O (Teammates anyone?). I’m a huge Boston Celtics fan, as well as the Philadelphia Eagles. Yes, it’s an odd combination, one of the most winning teams in history and one of the least winning teams in history. Chirp my teams all you want, I’m used to it. Music wise, I’ve got odd tastes. I pretty much listen to anything that is there (except for country). Just to give you an idea of what my IPod is like, my music can range from Led Zeppelin, Rush, The Who, The Rolling Stones, ACDC and Black Sabbath to Chance The Rapper, Childish Gambino, Frank Ocean, The Weeknd, Kanye West, Danny Brown, NWA, 2Pac, and OutKast, to 1975, Bastille, Sublime, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros), Vampire Weekend, Sublime with Rome, The Dirty Heads, Grizzly Bear and the list goes on. I’m always open to new music, and I’d love to swap IPods/Phones sometime. I enjoy going to concerts, so if you need a Bino/Weeknd buddy, I’m there man. I love all kinds of movies but my three favourites are Shawshank Redemption, Forrest Gump, and The Green Mile. I don’t know what it is about Tom Hanks or prison movies but they get to me every single time. I also bleed Star Wars, Star Trek, and LOTR. I only watch TV on occasion, but I love Community, House of Cards, Arrested Development, Parks and Rec, Breaking Bad, Fresh Prince, Seinfeld, and HIMYM.
