Hi everyone! Ok, so the Salsa Challenge is among us; Wednesday is the big day where the Farmers Market shares the day with the big challenge; and the day we shut down the street! SOOO….it is time to get your team applications into the BIA for the big challenge! Below is the information you will need. And remember, if you want to become a vendor at the Farmers Market on Wednesday, you must let me know TODAY! Call me (Shelly): 250-318-7254 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Come compete against the Customer Care and Patrol (CAP) Team in this years Salsa Challenge! Do you and your organization think you have the skills to top their mouth-watering recipe? Join the Kamloops Farmers Market and the CAP Team on the 400 block of Victoria Street, at 12pm on Wednesday, August 20th in this fun event and show us your zesty and/or spicy creative best! ENTER YOUR TEAM - OPEN TO ALL - $10 entry fee; teams may consist of up to 4 members. Rules: 1. Each entrant is required to bring their own chopping board, knife, presentation container, and wet wiping cloth. 2. Each entrant may also bring 3 food safe approved SECRET INGREDIENTS to the competition. 3. Must use tokens provided to purchase $10 worth of products at the Farmers Market to make their salsa - Farmers Market will be open at the time of the competition on the same block. 4. All contestants will have 20 minutes to make their purchases 5. We will provide salt, pepper and sugar. 6. All Entrants will have 20 minutes to prepare their entry in a stage area in their mini kitchen. 7. All entrants must make a minimum of 2 cups. 8. Chips will be provided for judges. 9. Contestants are encouraged to dress up in costume! 10. Winners get first, second and third place ribbons - and bragging rights! All entry fees must be paid in cash, payable at the start of the competition on August 20th.
