Hi everyone, Welcome to the New Year! This is a bigger update for the month as I will be away from January 13 – 23 for City business in Vancouver and Prince George. --- 1. A Personal Note: I’m really enjoying the new position as Mayor. I’m very happy that many of you voted me into this position because I feel my skills and energy are truly tailored for this type of work. Being at service to you and our community has not only brought a new level of challenge into my life, but reward as well. There is a considerable amount going on in our community. I know I haven’t been as active on Facebook recently and it’s because right now Ive got some priority items that are taking up my time and energy. I do understand that many of you want to get a hold of me right away as I am a new Mayor and am inheriting our collective past issues. Currently I am working two jobs, so I will do my absolute best with the resources that Ive been allocated. Allow me a grace period on the communication front while I help sort out our immediate priorities and core business. In the Spring I will move into some of the goals I presented in my campaign – the town hall meetings, engaging and educating the public, etc. I will also be establishing regular office hours within the next two months. Im really looking forward to a great year ahead with our new Council. Stay tuned for more, and happy new year to everyone! --- 2.
