Hi everyone Well after the crappy weather it was finally worth - TopicsExpress

Hi everyone Well after the crappy weather it was finally worth dangling a line in Pittwater. Today Damien and his merry crew joined me for a charter chasing kings on Pittwater. The first few stops were devoid of squid but we finally hit pay dirt at Careel Bay weed beds. There are big kings in Pittwater at the moment but they dont eat anything that is presented to them. They still seem to be fixated on small white bait and hardyheads. The best area to try for a big kingfish doesnt exist at the moment because they seem to be on a constant cruise. I have encountered these 1.2m kings at Longnose Point, around Scotland Island and in front of Portuguese Beach. Today we found our kings towards the mouth of Pittwater on the last of the rising tide. We managed a keeper 75cm king, a samsonfish, salmon and numerous small kings all on fresh squid. The smaller kings have larger fish around them at the moment but the smaller fish are pouncing on the baits first. A tip: when hooked up keep another bait in the water for a few of his mates to inspect and cast around a few lures as well. If you can hook up two or more fish at once the school will often rise and become aggressive. I hope this short report fires you all up and I hope to see you all on Pittwater over the coming holiday season. Best wishes Peter
