Hi everyone We’ve continued to closely monitor the path of Cyclone Ita overnight and today as this severe weather system approaches the coast of far north Queensland. With the uncertainty of Ita’s path once it crosses the coast, we have taken what we believe is the responsible decision on W415 -- Pacific Dawn’s Queensland coastal cruise -- scheduled to depart Brisbane tomorrow. In the interests of the safety and security of passengers and crew, we have made necessary and unavoidable changes to Pacific Dawn’s cruise itinerary. Instead of travelling north from Brisbane towards the current adverse weather system, Pacific Dawn will now sail south on a revised itinerary calling at Sydney, Newcastle and Moreton Island (Tangalooma) before returning to Brisbane on April 19. Direct messages are currently being sent to passengers to let them know of the change. We know passengers may be disappointed that Cyclone Ita has affected their intended itinerary in this way. However, we feel certain they will also understand that this is the correct decision and in the best interests of their comfort and safety. Pacific Dawn’s officers and crew are looking forward to welcoming passengers onboard in Brisbane tomorrow and will do everything they can to ensure their cruise is enjoyable as possible.
