Hi everyone! Wow this is such a big group and such a great resource! Just wanted to share some info about ASU (Arizona State University) M.Ed in Higher and Postsecondary Ed program. We are still accepting applications, classes are flexible (4:30-7:15 PM on 8 week schedules), and there are numerous assistantships (they call them Management Internships here) on campus in Student Affairs, housing, etc. The class schedule really allows you to make the most of your days. I work as a G.A. in the Student Union, and have also interned in Career Services/Academic Advising and its all really manageable. I just moved here from Chicago and I really like it! Here is a video about our program. And below is a link our HESA website :) It seems like a lot of you are deciding between so many great programs - congrats to all of you on your hard work thus far! The application process is the worst part :) My advice to you when choosing a program is to take the following three things into consideration. I was choosing between ASU and 2 Chicago schools and I chose ASU for these three reasons: 1. Assistantships/Tuition Costs - There are so many schools with great assistantship programs that will cover most/all of your tuition. Take the time to research this before accepting a program. Dont go into too much debt for your Masters - you may want to do a PhD one day :) 2. Faculty/Staff - Your faculty/advisors will make or break your program. Make sure you feel comfortable with them! 3. FIT - Fit is really important. Do you feel connected to the institution? Do you agree with the institutional culture? How about the curriculum - are you excited about the courses? Programs tend to have either an admin/strategic focus or a student affairs/counseling focus - the curriculum is a pretty easy indicator of which way the curriculum leans. Our is administrative but there are numerous student affairs related courses as well. Your program is really what you make of it! I hope this is helpful! If anyone has questions, feel free to reach out to me. This is such an exciting time and each school is really wonderful. Good luck! Jade Silva if you have anything to add, feel free! Allison Carroll you too! asuhesa.weebly/
