Hi everyone, just a quick one to say a big thank you to everyone who was at base tonight helping out and also to everyone who brought donations along for us. Weve managed to put together some wonderful packs of items to give the people we will see this weekend and also get all of the orders ready from last week. These items are very much needed by our street friends and will really help towards making their lives easier, so thank you to everyone who has donated them. We are short on baby wipes, flasks, sleeping bags, rucksacks, combs and we are always needed food donations, so next time you are shopping, think of us and our street friends and grab a few extra bits to donate to us. Ive included some photos of the food parcels and toiletries parcels that we make up for people. This one is for one girl and will be getting delivered to her tomorrow night. It has all of the essential items in to keep her going, cleaning products, toiletries, food, toilet roll, towels, cutlery, cups, and of course some nice pamper treats. This is where your donations go and they really do make a big difference to the lives of someone who has very little. We also managed to deliver a load of household stuff to one of the ladies I mentioned on Saturdays update, today. Thank you to Kate Sussams for delivering it and to everyone who helped donate items to pass on to her to make her life more comfortable. She had practically nothing before Kate got there, and we managed to kit her out with all sorts and will be delivering more for her next week. Thank you for helping us to put a smile on this ladies face and give her something good to wake up to tomorrow. Im also very much looking forward to giving our friend in the wheelchair this wonderful gift from one of our members, this camping stove will make his and his partners lives so much easier. We also had a photographer, from the chronicle, come along tonight and get some photos of what we do (and also some of us generally messing about, which is also part of what we do) for a piece which will hopefully be in on Tuesday next week, so I will keep you all updated about that. We will be at our outreach as usual at destiny church on Saturday, any donations of food, cakes or anything like that would be very much welcomed as we have a lot of hungry mouths to feed! Please let me know if you can prepare anything at all for us. Dont forget we still need people to join our sponsored sleep out.
