Hi everyone, please be critical of this petition going around to get Michelle Obama to speak at our school. This petition is in accordance with a resolution to get Michelle Obama to come speak after the shootings in our town. I think its personally very gross to use the deaths of some to capitalize on getting some politician that some students want to see speak. On that note, please bear in mind that Michelle Obama is a politician, who is married to Barack Obama, who actively drones thousands of people in non Western countries and deports millions. Is this where our energy should be put? Because Im pretty sure theres still violence in IV and getting a politician to speak who is in support of mass violence is not a great idea. (Plus, if we were to try and generally start petitions to get people shouldnt be trying to get Mariah Carey, our spiritual leader? Food for thought.)
