Hi everyone this is Melissa and I feel that I need to clarify some things because we have so many new people to our page which is awesome and we really really appreciate your support. Melrose Park neglected dogs is not a rescue organization we are independent volunteer rescuers on a mission to feed and save the dogs out of Melrose Park that have been dumped and occasionally a few cats. We rely on the public to network our dogs and for rescue and foster parents to take these dogs and cats into their program or into their home. What we do is we get the animal out of the park and get them to the veterinarian to be vaccinated spayed neutered and any medical attention that they may need we ask for people to donate to their care. The reason that we do this is so that the rescues dont have to try to raise the money to get these dogs and cats and it helps them tremendously to have the dog already medically situated. Some rescues however take the dog in immediately and provide their own vet care and at that time I will post a you caring and that money will go directly to the rescue for that animal. Occasionally Ill have a rescue that wont ask me to attempt to raise the money that they already have the money available and to please save that money for another dog so we respect their wishes. Our goal is to get these dogs placed and we cannot do that alone and we thank you all for your support. Our volunteers are feeders, rescuers and animal lovers we all have full time jobs and this is our second volunteer job and in my case its my second full time nonpaying job and we/I do our best to try to connect with everybody that sends messages or phone calls and sometimes we dont always get a chance to respond on a timely manner and we hope that you will understand that we all have personal lives. The food and blanket drive that is coming up on the 15th means a lot to us. It means that we get to change out bedding in the dog houses for the cold weather and have food so we dont always have to beg for it. I would prefer to save the PayPal address for you caring when I need it for a dog or if I need help with for example paying the storage unit monthly payment of $45. What we do at the park can take a very emotional toll on us because we see all kinds of stuff that most people would not want to see on a regular basis it is very heartbreaking but yet very rewarding thank you all very very much for caring about these animals as much as we do and again we could not do it alone rescue, fosters, adopters, networkers, donators and people who pray all mean so very much to us thank you for all that youve done and continue to do may God bless each and everyone of you.
