Hi, firstly; no apologies for inviting you all to join this (what could be) a wonderful group. Recently Ive been scouting the internet searching for answers to questions I am very interested in. A great man once told me dont you think that the very best questions, are the ones that dont have an answer in the back of a textbook if thats all you take from this group and you no longer want to participate then fine. Your choice. Trust me, I will not be offended. Format of the page; 1. Ask a question you may (or may not) know one of (the many) answers to. 1. Be accepting and polite of other members viewpoints on the matter (put your prejudices aside for a moment) 2. Do share this with friends 3. I was going for some kind of Fibonacci sequence with the questions but 5. I only got to the 5th term Question Number 1: Hywel Jonkens is asking is a profit based economy really the best (different from most successful so far) model for us to use as our future (not present) framework for well; everything (society). {You can say resource (quote addendum) if you want to but Im very dubious about the details...} I think action is important. I think there are enough great minds in this particular group list to answer this question once and for all. Question 2. (Yes theres a question 2!) If it all goes horribly wrong on this planet (small possibility, IMHO) will we have the technology, political capability (and whatever else is needed [maybe absence of global terrorism & religious extremism/national fundamentalism])... To colonise another planet? (Read some Michio Kaku if you think Ive gone cuckoo) Answers please... Enjoy! Hywel. (Jenks to some)
