Hi folks- a few weeks ago I suggested taking my book, Jennifers Way, and leaving it in a random place so someone else might stumble across it and discover this world of Celiac disease and what that REALLY means. Well Im happy to say thats exactly what happened! Whoever left that book in a waiting area you just helped save someone life of struggle with their health. You had a hand in helping someone live better, feel better and know they are not alone in their health struggles. So awesome! Read below Jennifer I just wanted to say THANK YOU for putting a face to Celiac Disease!! Last year, I had a genetic test done through 23 and me and had 3 high gene markers for Celiac disease and it was my 2nd highest health risk. I didnt think too much about it because I ate wheat all of the time and was asymptomatic. My auto immune problems are Interstitial Cystitis and I have had Gullianne Barre twice. I have been a nurse for 27 years and figured I would know if I had something like Celiac Disease. Where I live, we leave magazines, books, etc in our lobby if they are no longer of any use to us. Your book was there so, I took it and read it. I couldnt believe how similar IC was to Celiac and yes, I did have some of those symptoms. A few weeks ago, I had the blood work done and tested positive. There are so many food items I cant already eat--tomatoes, chocolate, caffeine, red dye, beef etc...I wasted NO time in clearing out my pantry and donating my gluten filled foods to a local food bank. I am still in the process of ridding my home of cleaning products, personal hygiene products and makeup. I would have NEVER bothered to get tested without having read your book. How lucky am I to have happened across it ??!! So thank you for your valuable information and I promise as a nurse, I will be an advocate for my patients with Celiac disease and will be a staunch educator on the subject in my work place. There has got to be away to bring about more public knowledge on this disease!!! I have seen the commercials/public service announcements on, The More You Know. Have you thought about doing one for Celiac Disease? I wish you much luck on your continued, healing journey. Thank you, Paula
