Hi folks, Bob again. As you know, the new Movie “Exodus” is coming out soon with Christian Bale playing Moses. There have already been some concerning things that have come out about this movie, such as Bale saying in an interview that he personally considers the real Moses to be “schizophrenic” and “barbaric” and that he learned about how to play Moses by reading the Bible AND the Quran. The you had the director of the movie, Riddley Scott saying the parting of the Red Sea “couldnt really happen”, so the movie has a “natural” explanation of an earthquake causing the water to recede naturally to allow the Israelites to pass through, and then a tsunami coming afterward from the earthquake to drown the Egyptian army. I guess I dont know why they cant just have the sea miraculously part from a strong wind as it states in the Bible. Anyway, now its been revealed that when Moses talks with God, God is portrayed by an 11 year old boy who goes by the mane Malak (The Hebrew word for Angel). This boy speaks to Moses while standing in front of a burning bush and represents God during the rest of the movie. What do you folks think of this? Is this a non-issue? Ill be honest with you, it does kind of bug me that God is being portrayed by a little boy. While I know Scripture says an “Angel of the Lord” appeared as a fire in the burning bush, it goes on to say that is was God who then spoke to Moses through the burning bush, declaring himself as God, as “I AM”. It just seems that the holiness and awesomeness of God is diminished when portrayed by some cute little kid. I dont know, maybe Im being too picky. What do you all think? Does this movie using a little kid to play God matter to you in any way?
