Hi folks, Bob again. Did you all see “Heaven is for Real” over the weekend? I did. I was really excited to see this movie and I have to say, I was actually disappointed. I was kind of surprised how worldly and shallow the “faith” of all the believers were in this movie. It seemed like no one had any real depth or substance to their faith.....even the Pastor, just a bunch of generic talk about “having faith” and “love”, which is fine, but it would have been nice to have SOMEONE give the Gospel message, or declare the need to accept Jesus, or Jesus dying for our sins, or something with more depth than just “God is love, Heaven is wonderful”. Yes, I know Hollywood wont put out a movie that has proselytizing or is too “preachy”, so maybe we should just be happy with them even being willing to make this movie in the first place, but I guess I was hoping for a less watered down, worldly portrayal of Christians (including the Pastor). What did you all think of “Heaven is for Real”?
