Hi folks I can finally announce and am very pleased to say that at long last I have exchanged on our farmhouse in Provence France which I posted about last year. Actually in the Alpes de Haute region of Southern France to be exact, about an hours drive from Marseille in the middle of the French countryside. Ultimately in time Ill be pursuing my dream of running an astronomy themed self catering gite business. Initially there is just a single gite that has a separate double bedroom and a bed settee in the lounge which I can start renting within a month or so from moving in. Eventually though Im planning on building a further 2 x 2 bedroom gites once permission is granted. There will be observatories with kit that guests can use, plus a level site with outside power for the folks who want to use their own kit :) Im very excited that at last our plans have come to fruition and I do hope to see some of you over there in the beautiful country of France. Youll be pleased to know that the DDA will be unaffected by this and Im also pleased to announce that David Barnard has kindly agreed to continue organising the meets up at the Guildford hospital social club :) More news as we get it anon!
