Hi folks!! I hope everyone is having a nice Labor Day. Im here in Orem Utah for our show tonight at the Sclera Shell w the Hermans Hermits starring Peter Noone at 8pm. Tomorrow I fly back to Chicago. I decided that since my flight is getting in later in the evening, Ill be taking the night off from the Redhead Tomorrow night. If I were to push it,, I probably could have made it down there,, but I told Phil to cover for me,, just incase a flight delay etc. Ill return the following Tues Sep 9. That will be the only Redhead appearance Ill be doing for the month of September. Wednesday- Music Therapy night at Chapins Morris w Acoustic Avenue ( myself & Ron Romero) 7pm Thursday- the music therapy continues at McBrides in Plainfield w Acoustic Avenue (myself & Ron) 6pm Friday I leave for the road again w HHSPN. If I may,,,,,,, I like to address something that has seemed to cause a bit of confusion. 4 years ago, me and my wife moved from our hometown Cleveland OH to Chicago IL. The company that my wife works for was making changes, so therefor in order for her to stay on to the company, we had to make the move. We had to keeps things under wraps, but at the same time,, it was a quick transition. I had a history in Chicago and some friends in the music industry that I knew,, but I quickly found out that my arrival to Chicago wasnt very warm and welcoming that I hoped for,,,,, so I had to start all over again. Luckily for me, I still had my job w HHSPN and the support from my wonderful hometown to fall back on. One of the first people I contacted when I moved there was Phil Baron. I knew Phil from his days in Cleveland,, and Im very thankful to him because now, Ive become a regular fixture at the Redhead Piano Bar. It took a couple years,, but we finally hooked up and now the Philbillys is a hit down there. I also have to acknowledge my meeting and befriending Ron Romero. I met Ron thru Facebook. He seen my posts about the move so he contacted me, we met and have became fast friends. I can see that Ron had an interest and a desire to make it in the music industry,,,, and the same desire as I did to work in the area,,, so it made sense, we should start a band,, an acoustic type of band (so we can play more places). Also Mike Bruccoleri was a part of this equation. Me and Mike had the experience,, Ron had the drive, talent and desire. That was to become Acoustic Avenue. Sorry for all this long winded speech but it does help set all this up,,, and also help explain the confusion some of you are experiencing. When AA was formed,,, it was obvious that since I tour all the time w the HH,, and Mike still had contactual music endevours in NY,, we had to design AA to have a revolving door of musicians,,,,mainly to cover for myself and Mike when were away,,,, and also for Ron to be the driver,, the leader,,,, the man who drives the ship. Thats the the original concept for AA. Mike has since moved on to other musical projects. We have a great pool of musicians that are a part of this, besides myself and Ron,,, theres Jimmy Herter, Jim Alberico, Jeff Rutter, Skip Griparis, Paul Wood, Rocky Penn, Bob Macy. And we have Cathy Fleetwood!!! If Ive left anyone out, my apologies. The group was designed from the beginning that one of the original three of us was away, we would have a sub,, and if any one of the original three was available,,, we would automatically be the first call for any AA activity. That was the original concept. And also for Ron the be the leader and steer the ship,,,,, that was also intended from the beginning. Now whatever happened last Friday,,, I just chalk it up as a communication mistake,,, no more,, no less. Acoustic Avenue is alive, well and happy. Me and Ron might be the principle players, but everyone contributes to the success. I hope this explains and clears up any confusion. I plan on being in the Chicago area for at least another couple of years,, while Im there, I plan on continuing having as many great nights w Acoustic Avenue along w the Philbillys and solo and with Cathy. I also intend to be involved in as many musical endevours my schedule allows.
