Hi folks! Our GLOW camp here in NoPro was very successful, and we had a sponsor this year: Evofem, makers of the Softcup (softcup), which is a menstrual cup (somewhat similar to Diva Cup). They sent us enough cups to give out to all of our girls and training materials so we could instruct as to their use during our menstruation and period management session. Our girls (and especially facilitators) really enjoyed the session and were excited about a new way to manage their periods that is discreet, odor free, and more comfortable than citenge pads or hard-to-find tampons. Evofem wants to provide the opportunity for ALL GLOW girls in Zambia to try out Softcup through their Project Dignity campaign (projectdignity.org). I am acting as their point person for PCZambia to help organize and distribute cups for GLOW camps next year. If you are interested in having FREE cups and training materials for your GLOW camp next year, PLEASE contact me (email is best: hharrison.green@gmail) and I will round up a large shipment to be sent to Zambia and bush mailed to your prov capitol. Your only obligation would be to follow up with the girls after they have the cups with a short survey to see what they thought of them, and to have the materials translated into your local language (Bemba is already done). The materials are short and require maybe 1/2 hour of translation by a native speaker. Personal aside: I was a Diva Cup user but have converted to Softcup because it.is.awesome. The cups can last up to five years if cared for properly (rinsing and drying) and are MUCH cheaper than Diva Cup for those Zambians who like it and can order more online (a small but growing number). So, let me know! They are willing to sponsor as many cups as we can reliably train girls to use and give away.
