Hi folks, let me step in as moderator and Chair of the Task Force, - TopicsExpress

Hi folks, let me step in as moderator and Chair of the Task Force, and remind everyone to please keep the comments civil and adhere to the goals of our group. We are here to help the animals, not fight with one another. Comments that begin with My concerns are... or My issues are... are often perceived as negative declarations of pre-judgement and opposition, rather than legitimate questions. A better way to phrase your questions might be, I would love to volunteer for this. What are the qualifications and conditions to participate? How will you decide who will be eligible to participate in the program? Are my fosters eligible to be transported? How will I be reimbursed for my expenditures? What vets are participating in the program? Where will the pick up point be, and what are the pick up times? Have you visited NEAS, and what are your observations of their staff and facilities? What will become of my fosters who are not adopted? How can I be assured my fosters will go to good homes? As a community, how will we deal with the adverse selection of dogs that are difficult to adopt, when many of the most adoptable dogs will be transported out of state? How are our efforts to provide low cost spay/neuter progressing? Weve had these questions already, and welcome more questions, and even better, helpful suggestions. Please remember that we are as new to the proposed partnership with NEAS as you are, and we are working hard to gather all the answers and develop a comprehensive plan of action to present to the Task Force on Wednesday. We dont have all the answers yet, but were working diligently to gather them. Well have more questions to research after the Task Force meeting as well, and well share the answers here. In the meantime you can assist by developing a list of questions youd like answers to, and well collect a list of FAQs and answers to present at the meeting. I know its tempting to ask these questions of NEAS. But we all have the same questions and we all want the same answers. So please be considerate and share your questions here so we can collect them, and all benefit from the answers. Otherwise, well overwhelm them, and us too. Lastly, while this can be of great benefit to our community, it will bring new changes as well. Lets keep our minds open to creative solutions. I know many of you are quite clever, and given a challenge can find creative ways to overcome new challenges. I look forward to working with you for the betterment of our community and the lives of our animals.
