Hi friends, Hope youall had a merry Christmas! We did. For those of you who didnt get our Christmas card and letter, heres what I mailed out before I got sick with the flue: (Im much better now.) Written on 12/14/2014, 3rd Sunday of advent Dear friends and family, I hope you’re grabbing some peace this holiday season. I just reminded myself today that peace won’t ever come “after I get everything done”. The world will never grant me peace. It’ll always come up with more stuff to do. It’s up to me to be faithful to my daily scheduled time of peace in prayer and meditation. Only that way can I radiate peace to those around me. So what’s there to say? We’re still here, you’re still there, everything is growing at a steady pace: the grand kids, the meditation groups, the numbers of visitors to my website, Bob’s shop, our relationship, my love for God and neighbors. Quite literally that last one, we live in the most wonderful, loving neighborhood. We went to Germany twice this year. First with Bob’s cousin Paul and his daughter Sarah to the Cologne Karneval, a six days long Mardi Gras party where the whole city enters a heightened state of love for life and each other. I wasn’t sure how my Yankees would handle it. Thank God, they loved it so much that we already booked our flights to do it again next year. Bob says he understands me a lot better now. We went with a whole suitcase full of costume stuff. By the grace of God, Bob just so happened to come up with a character that looked just like the mascot of the Cologne soccer team: a billy goat in red and white on its hind legs. Everybody loved him! Perfect strangers, men and women, would fall into his arms, exclaiming: “You are the man of my life!” So much for his usual mantra: “I don’t give a hoot what anybody thinks of me!” He was quite happy to soak up all that love and floated on that cloud for a few weeks. Back home, I sprained my ankle really bad and was pretty much laid up in bed for a month, which was a wonderful opportunity to rest and write. I kept feeling like I was back on the beaches of the Cote d’Azure. The last time I had such a restful vacation was when I was a teenager! Our second trip to Germany was in the fall for the wedding of my niece and God daughter Anna. It was great to spend time with so many members of my family and old friends. That’s when we also went to Dresden, the city that houses Rafael’s famous Sixtine Madonna. We took this selfie in front of a poster of her. From Dresden, we explored a nearby National Park dubbed Saxon Switzerland and took a ride on a 250’ 1930 steam side wheel paddle boat on the Elbe River. We, and many Germans with us these days, are discovering that Germany is beautiful! It’s a revelation for the post WW II generations. May you and yours be blessed! Please bless us and our families. Lots of love, Ella and Bob Rozett
