Hi friends! I just really want to tell you something nice that happened today. Indeed a lot of nice things happened. I had a great visit with a lady I have got to know through my work at Highwood. She told me some amazing stories. I really hope she will share some of them with us here at Highwood Soul whan she is ready for it, as I think it may benefit others, and I think she may be willling too! It was so nice to see her improvement hear her thankfulness to God for helping her on her way out of depression. On my way home I had a little stop at Chirnside Park, close to Lilydale. You have maybe seen that I am going to take part in the cooking demonstrations in connection with Dr. Bird’s lectures “Freedom from Depression” in Lilydale, Sept. 15. The event will be recorded, so the three of us who are doing the cooking demonstrations have to wear matching colors. We decided for something really plain – black and white. I do not have a black skirt here, so I went looking for one this afternoon. It seems like such a small detail of life, but I was so amazed to see how God cared for me even in this little thing. He knows I do not like to spend much money on clothes… The first shop did not have anything suitable, and the when I asked the lady if she knew of other shops that had long skirts, she said she had not seen any. But I went further. I found a couple of skirts that would be OK, both around 20-30 dollars. That’s not bad. But I decided to look a little more, and sure enough I found one to 15 dollars. It was OK, but not anything special. I also prefer cotton as it is healthier, and so far all skirts I had found were synthetic. I went to the change room with the 15 dollar skirt, but on the way my eyes fell on some clothes hanging in a special section – one of this and one of that… probably “left overs”. Among them I saw a quite nice black skirt. It was nothing very fashionable, but just the kind of skirts I find really comfortable and pretty enough. I had a look at the price tag. It had been 25 dollars, but the tag told me it was reduced to 10. Great! I picked it up, and sure enough, it fitted me well. I was so happy and THANKFUL, as I want to the counter – but there another surprise awaited me. The lady scanned the tag, and said: “1 dollar!” 1 dollar!?!? “But the tag says 10 dollar”, I insisted. “Well, I have to go after what the computer says, and it says 1 dollar.” “Are you sure?!?” “Yes!” I was truly amazed. A new skirt, the right color, my style, comfortable and in cotton – for 1 dollar! I was SO THANKFUL… so amazed for God’s care for my small details in life! There is someone who cares, and I can rest in that care. That is an enormous source of encouragement and promotes mental health! - Stine
