Hi friends, I prepared less than a week for my TEOFL and managed 110/120. So possibly a study plan for all those who have less than a week to prepare. My score was - Reading 28, Listening 30, Speaking 24, Writing 28. 1. Reading - If you are preparing for GRE, TOEFL RCs will be a cat walk for you. Most of the times, you will find answer directly in the passage. Do give a extra thought to the last question of each passage, since it is of 2 marks. 2. Listening - The strategy I used, was that rather than listening meticulously, I jotted down all the major details. Some, minor details are also important like in a lecture why could not a student come, why was the student not able to complete his work. So, always make a map of everything in your mind. 3. Speaking - In speaking, I can possibly tell you what not to do!! Everyone told me that a little practice is needed but I thought that I will be able to manage it. On the test day, it was a disaster. Either I was too slow or too fast, I could not speak at my normal speed. I was sputtering and did not manage my time correctly. Time management important. SO PLEASE DO SOME SPEAKING PRACTICE, no matter how fluently you can speak. There were 15 - 20 people in a lab and all were simultaneously speaking, there was a total chaos, just like Indian Parliament :). So do some practice, with your TV ON or the music you dont like. 4. Writing - Writing in TOEFL unlike GRE is not that analytical. Even if you write a high school essay, you will get a good score. Just to show that you have a good hold of english, use some GRE words in between. Do give some examples, they want you to use some real world examples. Thata all from me, all the best, future test takers.
