Hi friends! Ive caught the flu, and have had some down time to think about what I want to do with the rest of my year. I want to play Hyrule Warriors, Alpha Sapphire, and Smash Bros., I want to get a real tree this year, and I want to dress as a pilgrim for Thanksgiving (found a dress at the PX that is totally a pilgrim dress, hahaha) and dress Lydia up as a Native American (she is like .000001% Navajo), which got me thinking. What are some of your favorite traditions that you do with your family each year? The first holiday season we spent together as a married couple, I was so sick from pregnancy that I almost had a PICC line installed. The second holiday season, Luke was gone for half of it, and Lydia wasnt doing well health wise. The third, we were literally yanked from our home and moved into another one during Thanksgiving/Christmas (about 2 months before we PCSd), and last year, well... its not fun to talk about. My degenerating condition got the best of me and I didnt even make food or wrap presents. Pretty sad, right? We have no real traditions, and I hate it! One thing Ive always wanted to do is to allow Lydia + possible future children to open a present on Christmas, and no matter how much I will convince them otherwise, itll be new jammies (for fancy Christmas morning pictures the next day).
