Hi friends! Well,A lot of work is being put in towards our production which will debut in 2015. More updates coming soon! Once in a while i like to challenge myself. I decided to take on a project for my production. Now Im no master Luthier but,i gotta say I did better than I thought and Im proud of it.I took on the task of making a replica of Elvis first guitar from the Tupelo hardware store. Elvis guitar was a mid 1940s Kay acoustic guitar. I bought a late 40s to early 50s model very similar to Elvis. From what I was told the models between 46 & 50 didnt change much. Through the process of sanding/staining,re attaching a bridge and just about every part this guitar came without I managed to come close.I even put the scratches on it as well. The photos you will see are of the process of what I did. A 2 week commitment. The guitar started as a sunburst color before I sanded it down. The first photo with the Tape on it is Elvis original.Hopefully our young Elvis will be happy with the final product. On a side note...I had a bit of a problem re-attaching the bridge.Theres numerous measurement from the bottom to the top of the guitar etc.. that come into play to make the guitar playable and functional.I was told by 2 different guitar shops that it would of been a $400 investment to make the guitar playable. That I couldnt do it myself and that it would most like be just an unplayable prop if i got my hands on it myself.Well,I proved them wrong. On top of doing all the guitar work myself I made the guitar a functional/playable guitar! I should take it in and show them, lol. As they say... Where theres a will theres a way! Im proud of this work I did and wanted to share it with you friends! Looking forward to releasing more details about our production very soon! Thank you all for the support!
