Hi guys- Congratulations on getting into ARU and hope you are all excited for Freshers Week! :D Some of you may have already heard about The Cambridge Union, the largest society in Cambridge and the oldest debating society in the World. Membership of the Cambridge Union is open exclusively to students of ARU and Cambridge Uni. The Union takes pride in hosting the best speakers and debates in the world each term.This year alone Russell Brand and Jesse jackson addressed our members and previous speakers include the likes of Margaret Thatcher, Winston Churchill,Ronald Reagan and Julian Assange. We are also the social hub of the city of Cambridge, with the Cheapest Bar in Cambridge which offers drinks and cocktails at fantastic prices. Several students and members of staff at ARU are Union Members and many incoming freshers join the Union before coming up to Cambridge. To join online visit cus.org/join.
