Hi guys, How was everyones crimbo? Hope Santa was good to you all. Big Dog Miniatures has been up and running for nearly a year now and I have to say, what an interesting year its been! Looking forward to next year, Ive put together a top 5 wish list of miniatures Id like to tackle in 2015 but I was wondering if anyone else has done the same? Is there a particular mini or project you really want to do next year? Lets see if we can inspire each other and share a few ideas. Heres my top five, lets hear yours! 😁 1. A Dragon The first mini I painted was a small,one-piece metal zombie dragon by Grenadier (or possibly Ral Partha). Despite being iconic fantasy creatures, I just never seemed to have the opportunity to do another and the new dragon minis on the market are simply stunning. Yep a dragon would be an awesome little project for 2015. 2. Knight Models Hulk and Iron Man After seeing Avengers Assemble and the Iron Man movies I love these guys. Knight Models sculpts of them really capture the feel of the characters. I already have Iron Man (hes mocking me quietly from my workbench as I type!) and Im determined to pick up Hulk. I dont even play the Batman Miniatures Game, Ill paint them purely for display purposes! 3. Malifaux Shadows of Redchapel Now Malifaux is a game I do play (poorly) but I absolutely love it and the minis just ooze character. My chosen factions are Neverborn and Ten Thunders but the Shadows of Redchapel crew have always appealed to me. Seamus (a Mad Hatter / Jack the Ripper mash up) and his Rotten Belles (zombie hookers) have just the right amount of creep factor to make them icons of the Malifaux setting for me. Mind you, I really like most of the Malifaux minis in the current line and wouldnt pass up the opportunity to tackle another crew or two. 4. Nocturna Models Alice Ive wanted to tackle a bigger mini for a while and Nocturna Models Alice is a 72mm sculpt. Like Fairies Wear Boots its a total change from the darker, wargaming minis I tend to paint. I thoroughly enjoyed Fairies Wear Boots for the off-beat fantasy feel and I think Id get the same kick painting Alice. 5. Dark Elf Sorceress One of the few Games Workshop female figures (until recently) which look good. I love the sculpt and it seems like a pretty straightforward mini but would be great practice for painting flesh tones. Theres loads more Id like to do which arent in my top five. Things like Captain Gunnbjorn for Hordes, some of the Infinity minis like Ajax and the motorcycles, Orc Boar Boys for Warhammer and some of the newer 40k Space Marines like the plastic librarian. After all its not a hobby, its an addiction
