Hi guys, I hope your festive season is treating you well! Ive got a new upcoming comedy short called Clapping For Elephants that I wrote based on an Australian psychology study. Im looking to cast 2 males and 1 female to play a psychologist, a patient, and a receptionist, respectively (I can send through the casting calls designed as psychological evaluations if interested). Lastly, does anyone know where I can find a psychologist office set? Either an actual psychologists office or equivalent. If not, would anyone have a psychologist-like couch that I could gratefully borrow or any suggestions on how to get around that mise-en-scene issue? It is unpaid and while all the regular benefits of unpaid work apply, I really do want to contribute something for the talent that want to get involved. So I would like to extend the opportunity for you to go through with me after the finished product and pick out longer takes or different angles of your performance to use in showreels. I understand how difficult it can be using snippets from finished products when you have a great performance but the shot cuts away after two seconds. Its a one location short with a restricted number of angles, so shooting will only take one day and we can spend most of the time focussing on refining the performances rather than fiddling with lights and cameras. In this aspect, with such a dedicated focus on the characters, it would make a great showreel piece. Let me know if youre interested and want to hear more!
