Hi guys!! My son was given a( one of thousands!) caterpillar from a willow tree they were cutting back, to rear to moth. Were all nature lovers and so he had a lecture about hygiene, changing the leaves every day for Eric , keeping moist and out of direct sunlight etc. Hes ten and took his responsibility very seriously! The hairy skin eventually came off and hes in his next phase, took two weeks. Now hes been a sort if black plastic bullet for almost two, there are no more movements, which were down to barely noticeable a few days ago... Should we simply wait, if so for how long, or is that the end of Eric?? He was originally hairy, black with yellow markings and actually very cute! Just wondering how long to keep the jar on my worktop also wondering if we should have been still changing the leaves as theyre rather dark now too, just didnt want to disturb the setting x
