Hi guys four years ago I was diagnosed with inoperable cervical and my whole world crashed, after all my treatment Chemo, radium, braci, blood transfusion and pain management which I have to this day I decided that I was going to live and help others see that you can have a life living with Cancer , we opened a centre in the City call The Girls Thegirlsclub Cork where everything is free from counselling to therapies to just being able to laugh, we have the first wig bank in Ireland and Now we have The Blankets Of Hope where blankets and products are donated and given to people going through Chemo, the Centre is for everyone touched by cancer as sadly it has the ripple effect on everyone, as I always say when I got cancer so did my family and friends, Some day have been awful but I always smile , we have the most amazing group of Volunteers and our wage bill for the centre is 400 euros a week for office staff and book keeper all the rest is done voluntary and what a centre we have. Nine weeks ago I went to see my gyni Matt Hewitt a wonderful man and he told me and my husband Jack that I was cured on a Tuesday at 4.15pm I could not speak from shock and on Thursday they took me to Theatre and there were no tumours in the bladder to say I am blessed is an understatement. So from that day I decided I was climbing Kilimanjaro with a group of amazing people who will raise funds to keep our doors open, to say it has been easy is not the truth but I have fought cancer everyday and this is my goal to reach the Summit, the girls and Mike have been my rock all of them helping and encouraging me along even though some day I was so angry what cancer had taken from me I wanted to Stop, Chris Mc took me under his wing and has trained me from day one. Pat FalveyTony Nation and the Falvey team have been so kind to me and Abina has encouraged me the whole way. Yesterday I faced my fear and did Carrantuohill and made it , I know the girls we have lost and loved carried me up the way , for the last few weeks training I have always found a feather when things got hard. On September the 8th we leave Cork with one amazing gang that I could not have wished to share this journey with anyone else, we are all climbing for our own reasons, it will be an emotional journey for all of us . Each step I will take is to show Cancer we will beat you and for all the girls that were taken too soon, so guys never give up on your dreams , Live Laugh Love and keep me in your prayers huge hugs ann xxxxxxxxxxxx
