Hi guys just an update Dwaine and I met with Maximus consultant today and it was a very positive conversation. He told us that Maxs liver has gotten smaller and that his liver function numbers are completely normal now. His lungs are still a bit wet but there working out his fluid intake and medication to balance this out. His heart is still doing well and are continueing to give him the medication to control the pressures so that he will be viable for the Glenn proceedure. He also said that looking at recent echos and catheters that they may be a possibility that he may not need to final stage of surgery (the fontain) In regards to the trachey he is still confused as too why it was unsuccessful and with the team from Chelsea and Westminster they have decided to do another CT scan to check in depth his wind pipe and if he is ready for them to try again as he has grown and put on weight as much as they have hoped. The consultant hopes that once the trachey is fitted and myself and Dwaine are trained to use it Maximus will be able to come home!!! We have been warned now that the winter is here he is more prone to infections so there may be times he could get poorly and go back a few steps so if we have visitors we have to ensure they are completely healthy. He has had a good week smiling all the time and having proper baths in the tub no more bed washes! As well as sitting up and playing in his new bouncer!!
